I held off on getting a mobile telephone for quite some time.
It really wasn't necessary for me to have one, and frankly, I found the whole concept of my location being traceable disturbing.
Plus, it'd be one extra thing to have to carry about. As it was, I had to worry about my car keys AND my wallet.
But, anyway, I got a job at Telstra, which required me to be in contact somewhat, and hey, it hasn't really hurt in the old television industry either.
Plus, it doubles as an alarm clock.
