Avant garde, no?

I pity the poor bastard at the Deakin Centre whose job it is to monitor the activities of myself and Andy Slackbastard. We spent altogether too long discussing the merits of the films 'Starship Troopers' and 'The Toxic Avenger' yesterday.

I had a long and involved discussion with my friend Kakariki's nearly one year old child today. It was mostly concerning the state of the property market under Blair Labor. To be honest, I got the impression that I was holding the conversation together.

It was a good thing that I had that long and involved conversation about The Toxic Avenger though, because when I got home Mick Jagger started hassling me about Sylvester Stallone and the Rocky movies. He'd bought a little keychain thing which says quotes from the films when you press the buttons as a present for some friend who really liked Rocky, but he wanted something else Rocky-themed, and his friend already had the Limited Edition DVD box set. I recommended Lloyd Kaufman's book 'Everything I Know About Film-Making I Learned From The Toxic Avenger' on account of the fact that Kaufman was the location manager on the first film and had a cameo role in one of the others - subjects he discusses in the book.

If I hadn't had Toxie at the forefront of my mind, I might have been stuck talking to Jagger for hours and that would have been most frustrating. The man simply can't take a hint.
